With a length of 20 metres and eight cabins, the Vila is one of the smaller ships crossing the Croatian Adriatic – the ideal ship for smaller groups or families. “Big enough to offer their guests the comfort they need, but small enough to sail to the most beautiful bays,” her guests say.
M/S Vila has been cultivating the cruise tradition in the northern Adriatic Sea for 51 years now. It first set sail in 1968 for the German agency “Sea Eagle” – the pioneer of the Blue Cruises in Croatia. An insider tip for charter groups are the former convict islands of Goli Otok and Sveti Grgur between the islands of Krk and Rab. By the way, the Vila was at home here until 1968 – to carry out transports to these islands.
The Vila is now already six years in the hands of Kristian Gerdević, an experienced captain. Kristian's father worked as a cook on the Vila at the end of the 1980s and took his son – at that time still a child – on board the ship in the port of Rijeka. Kristian said then “when I grow up, I will own the Vila”. About 25 years later his dream came true – when the owner called Kristian and asked him if he wanted to buy the Vila. Of course, a cook and a steward are also part of the crew. In addition, Kristian's 14-year-old son Antonio usually helps on board during the school holidays – we will see if he will follow in his father's footsteps one day…
General data: Length 20 m, built in 1930, reconstructed in 1980. 16 beds in 8 cabins with washbasin and safe.
Lower deck: 8 twin cabins with bunk beds. Air conditioning in the cabin aisle.
Other: 3 showers/WC for shared use. Sun deck (70 m²) with 6 deckchairs, a large table with benches on deck for 12-16 persons, saloon for 16 persons. Two SUPs (Standup Paddling Boards) are available free of charge.
In Rijeka, locked and guarded parking lots are available free of charge during the cruise. However, no liability is assumed for damage or theft.
The charter price includes fuel, water and crew for one week. See also the point "Route planning & cruising area". When booking half board, breakfast and lunch are also included.
The tourist tax of € 25 per person and week (for children up to 12 years € 12) is to be paid on board upon embarkation.
Embarkation in Rijeka is on Saturday from 12:00 noon, disembarkation on Saturday morning until 09:00 am. Other ports or weekdays can be arranged on request.
If you do not have a full week available, you can charter the M/S Vila for shorter trips as well – e.g. three or four days. We will gladly give you an offer.
The M/S Vila can also be chartered without catering. In this case you are responsible for buying food yourself and there is no cook on board. Of course, the galley is available to you at no extra cost – you only have to leave the galley as tidy and clean on disembarkation as you took it on embarkation.
A wide range of drinks is available on board – cola, fanta, sprite, fruit juices, mineral water, coffee, tea, red and white wine, draught beer and various spirits. If you have any special drink requests – such as sparkling wine or non-alcoholic beer – please let us know well in advance of the charter. The consumption of drinks will be charged before disembarkation.
If you charter the M/S Vila without board, you can choose whether you want to take advantage of the offer on board or buy drinks yourself.
We do not follow a fixed route, but design it in consultation with Captain Kristian and depending on the weather according to your wishes. The sailing area stretches from Rijeka over the islands of the Kvarner Bay to the islands of Pag, Silba and Olib as the southern border. Should you wish to sail further south, a corresponding fuel surcharge will be payable.
A deposit of 30% of the charter and board price is required at the time of booking and is paid by bank transfer in Euros EUR). The remaining payment will be made either by bank transfer before the charter starts or in cash on board. On board you can pay in Euros (EUR), Swiss Francs (SFR) or Croatian Kunas (HRK).
